Riverwoods Imaging Center
Riverwoods Imaging Center Provides a Complete Range of X-Ray & Fluoroscopy Procedures
X-rays include radiation that is part of the electromagnetic spectrum in the highest known frequency range. Because of their high frequency and short wavelength, X-rays can pass through solid objects. In common usage, the term "X-ray" refers to a diagnostic image produced by momentarily passing X-ray radiation through a part of the body to expose photographic film. This creates a photographic image based on the absorption of the X-ray radiation by body parts having different densities and the resulting differences in "film" exposure. Riverwoods uses digital X-ray machines where digital x-ray sensors are used instead of photographic film.
These X-ray photographs are read and diagnosed by one of Riverwoods' experienced radiologists, who provides a written report of their findings. The report is then available to your doctor to help in his decision for possible treatment.
